Food Shelf Programs
We provide outreach for guests of East African origin through two programs; our weekly East African Food Distribution and our Home Delivery Program.
East African guests may come to the food shelf once a month on Thursday mornings. CES has secured a part-time staff person as well as a volunteer to help with interpreting and translation.
Each food bag contains some ethnically specific food as well as basic food staples such as flour, sugar, oil, tomato products, tuna, pasta, etc. Guests may also select from tables of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, bread, milk and eggs.
Most East African households have at least four members, and receive around 50 pounds per month.
